Largely self-produced, Simone Felice was recorded in deeply resonant places, settings that were as haunted in their rafters as Felice felt in his bones: a barn near his home in the woods, an old church in London, an abandoned high school building by the Hudson River. What he created in these hushed, hallowed places is music that could be called folk but that has running through it a ghostly gospel-like feel, something otherworldly.

You can preorder the album at Simone Felice’s website.

Here’s a little taste:

Paste Magazine reports:
As one of the founding members of The Felice Brothers and The Duke & The King, it’s a safe to say Simone Felice knows a thing or two about songwriting. As Felice ventures out on his own now, his work carries a personal weight more than ever before. After undergoing open-heart surgery in the summer of 2010, it’d be hard to imagine this record not being a personal one. That’s exactly what Simone Felice has done on his upcoming eponymous debut—one self-produced with Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett.

Simone Felice will be released on April 2, 2012 via Team Love.
